Psalm 96 is pleased to present a recent catalog offering from the pen of John Andrew Cline. "He Says, Here I Am" gives a poignant testimony about searching everywhere to find meaning in life and hearing the call of Jesus, who beckons us to come to Him. He will give us His wondrous love and provide us with safety, shelter from life's storms, and real peace. This is a solo praise song with optional 3-part harmony in the bridge section. "Take Heart" is the original title song of our Concordia Praise Team CD, with Jennifer Hartfield as the lead vocalist. This praise song text is based on a passage from Matthew 9:2, Jesus' healing of a paralytic. The scripture confirms that it is our faith that makes us well, and that, because our sins are forgiven, we may become conquerors with Christ.

The SATB anthem, "Precious Jewels," holds a special place in the Concordia Choir Series. Composed following the death of two young children, Nicodemus Phipps and Ryan Johnson, in a south Chicago house fire, it speaks tenderly of Jesus coming and gathering in His children for His crown. The source text, by William Orcutt Cushing (alt.), and the tune, by George Frederick Root, carry biblical weight. Zechariah 9:16 states, "The Lord their God will save them on that day as the flock of His people. They will sparkle in His land like jewels in a crown." The recording features the Sanctuary Choir of NorthPark Presbyterian Church under the direction of Tinsley Silcox.

The piano "Overture" to the Easter musical The Eyes of the Carpenter is a powerful, yet soothing musical statement. The musical emotionally reflects the story of the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord as it may have been experienced through the mind of Joseph of Arimathea, the man who buried Jesus in his own tomb.
